Frequently asked questions
Fast answers for common field issues.
Key guidance from Wolflok’s support knowledge base, surfaced here for faster reference.
01The open dial turns but the box does not unlock. What should I check?+
The dial can turn without a code because a clutch mechanism protects the handle from forced opening. Press and release Clear, enter the code firmly so every button clicks, then rotate the dial 180 degrees clockwise. If it still does not unlock, confirm that the current code has not been changed.
02Can Wolflok recover or reset a forgotten code?+
No. Wolflok Pro is supplied uncoded and has no master or reset code. The code is controlled only by the person or organization that sets it, so facilities teams should store it in an approved secure record.
03How should I choose a code?+
Avoid obvious sequences. Each number may be used up to four times, and the order of entry does not matter. The official guide recommends six or more button presses with at least one repeated number.
04What if the lock box freezes shut?+
Keep moisture out by using the weather cover and dry the unit inside and out if water enters. In freezing conditions use WD-40 or a lock de-icer; do not use windscreen de-icer because it may damage the unit.
05What should I do if the Clear button is stuck?+
Rotate the open dial a full turn counterclockwise to realign the clutch. If debris may be present, apply WD-40 around the Clear button. If freezing is suspected, use WD-40 or lock de-icer. Persistent problems may require replacement or professional support.
06Can I remove a locked unit without the code?+
Do not prise the unit from its mounting surface. Contact a qualified locksmith or facilities professional with appropriate cutting equipment to reduce the risk of damage to the substrate.
07What battery powers the illumination module?+
The patented illumination module uses a replaceable CR2032 3V coin cell. The lock itself remains mechanical and does not depend on the battery to secure or release the key compartment.
08What warranty coverage is available?+
The Wolflok range includes a two-year standard warranty. Registering can extend eligible mechanical-parts coverage to five years. The illumination module remains covered for two years, and batteries are replaceable.
